Can I Tell You A Secret?

I am addicted to finding great blogs.  Yes, I really am! 

Inspiration is everywhere. 

I think it is the most wonderful thing in the world to be able to connect with such gifted and talented people, and have them connect with me.

This week alone, I would summarize that I have become a follower of at least 10 different blogs.  I can't get enough.

My sister's say to me when I tell them something I've read/learned on a blog.  "How do you have the time?  What do you do all day?"  Well, I work fulltime people.  It's just that I love, love, love learning new things.  Seeing such creative minds at work really get my own idea's going. 
I thought it would be fun to suggest a blog that I'm really loving at the moment.  This blogger doesn't know I'm telling you about her.  But, I know she'll love the extra bloglovin she'll be getting from you, when you check it out.

I joined the mailing list for this blog a while ago.  I think at the time I was a little curious about the fashion world.  This was a fashion blog, so why not?

My daughter Jade who is only 14 years old, surprised me with this book trailer last night.  I can't believe how talented she is.  How lucky am I?

Oh, how I love watching my book trailer.  It is perfect.  I love who Jade chose to portray the characters.  I could not have chosen better.

Creativity Rocks Project - Painted Basket For Beauty Supplies

 I've been wanting something to hold my beauty supplies in, on my bathroom vanity.  I guess the drawer is just not convenient for me, as I tend to leave them all over the counter when I'm done.

Of course, later I don't like the mess.

I searched for a container, thinking I'd like to make it special somehow.  Well, the other day while shopping at our local thrift store I found the perfect basket.  It was only $2.00.  Bingo.

But, I didn't want the zebra print.  I wanted it to go with the decor in my bathroom.

Could I paint it?  Well, yes. Of course, I could.

It was the perfect canvas.

This was a mixed media project.  I used Acrylic paint, some leftover

wallpaper, some scrapbook paper, markers, and Mod Podge.

I love the way it turned out.  It holds all my supplies perfectly. 

It feels good seeing it every morning.

Happy Birthday Stone!

 

My son Stone turned 17 yesterday.

Today, he said to me. 

"You know, I thought I would feel different

now that I'm older."

"Really?" I answered.

"Yeah", he said.  "The only difference is now I can go to R rated movies without my parent's permission, and I can buy my own rated M (for mature)

video games."

 

So there you have it - turning 17 from Stone's point of view.

 

Stone has a unique perspective, and is very artistic.  His speciality is in graphic design and creating logos.

 

In Ceramics class this year Stone gifted me with this

awesome looking vase.  It's so authentic on it's own that I seriously think any flowers in it would not even be noticed.

I love it.

I can always count on my Picasso Stone to bring me something so unique and different, it could never be duplicated.
