Motivational Art #3 Good Morning Sunshine

These are called my Lacy Flower's.

I'm convinced that in a previous life
I must have been a Swedish woman who painted her designs on plates, furniture, etc.
Something about repeating patterns really feels good to me.

I used a Sharpie Paint Marker in Gold & Mauve

Plus yellow water color paint.

Bienfang Watercolor Brush Pens

I recently started painting with the Bienfang Watercolor Brush Pens.  At first I wasn't sure what to think.  I didn't like them.  But the more that I used them the easier they were to work with.
Now, I love them.

What do I like about them?
Clean and easy.  No water necessary.
Brushes are quality and allow you to get into tight spaces.
Colors are bright.
Paint flows out evenly.

I definitely recommend these watercolor brush pens.  They are great for when you want
to do a watercolor painting but don't feel like dealing with the mess.

Here's how they look on paper.

HAPPY EASTER

My daughter came up with a great idea.
Instead of painting eggs this year we painted our nails.

I used a nice Berry Red, and she chose a lovely lavender.
Then with an emery stick and some white polish we added polka dots.

How cute and perfect for our Easter Brunch.

IKEA BACKPACK CUSTOMIZED WITH ORIGINAL ARTWORK - CREATIVITY ROCKS!

I was so excited when I found these really great backpacks at my local IKEA store.
I'd been searching for a backpack that was lightweight, high quality, and side pockets without flaps.
Plus, these were affordable.

I immediately grabbed a handful and purchased.

I couldn't wait to get to work on customizing them and making my backpack a statement piece that reflected my love for art.

The fabric marker's I reviewed on Tuesday worked perfectly on the canvas material.

I started by drawing some lines, adding some half circles, petal shapes, etc.

It was so much fun and I love the way they look.

Product Review - Elmer's Painter Pens

I've been inkling to find some pens I can use to draw on fabrics. I love to doodle with my Sharpie fine point markers, but didn't like the way the markers worked on fabric.

Today at my local Office Max I found a five pack of the Elmer's Painter Opaque Paint Markers for $15.00. They are also available singly, but I was looking for white. When, I saw the five pack with a Black, White, Blue, Red, and Green, I was thrilled.

You can use the Elmer's markers on Wood, Pottery, Ceramic, Glass, Metal, Paper, Plastic, Fabrics and more. Yeah, it's a win win. So, how did they work?

The fabric I was working on was very bummy and rough so the paint was not as thick and clear as I would have liked. I could have chose a bubble paint but I didn't want that whole bubble look for this project. So, I ended up just adjusting the amount of liquid that I had come out of the pen.

I liked the pens point. My pens flow was consistent and predictable. It dried very quickly so it was really easy to work with. Not much you could do about mistakes as this pen was permanent right away.

All in all for $15.00 these are a five star art tool. Later this week, I'll post pictures of the project I used them on.
